Seminar in block format
Master MIEPP Students (elective choice)
Time: 24th and 25th of January, 2013
Venue: Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) headquarters, Frankfurt
Importance of evaluating policy interventions in the context of development cooperation has never been disputed, though has always been controversial at the same time. The main problem faced by policy makers is that of allocation of time and resources between evaluating the ongoing project and launching another project of a similar kind.
Objective of this seminar to understand (i) how project evaluation (i.e. evaluation of interventions in the context of development cooperation) works in practice, (ii) what academic research would suggest on how project evaluation could look like and (iii) which of the features of ideal project evaluations can be used in applied work.
